Saddleback Meats
Our pigs have very pampered lives going straight from farrowing pens at weaning to our fifteen acre field grazing freely and fed on a diet of specially manufactured natural feed plus potatoes, straw and free access to grass therefore producing a slow maturing meat noticeably tender and full of flavour, so much more delicious than commercially produced pork.
From birth to slaughter we accompany our pigs all the way and take them to the slaughterhouse therefore making the journey as stress free as possible. The vets who inspect them for quality always comment on the excellent condition of our animals compared to others they see on a day to day basis.
The carcasses come straight back to the Island and are butchered by Island Foods, a well respected wholesale butcher on the Island.
The meat is boned and rolled and vacuum packed and comes straight to our freezer within the same week therefore ensuring fresh and consistently quality meat at all times .We trust you will enjoy the flavour and taste as much as we do
