Watchingwell Pig Company
Watchingwell Pig Company was started by David and Sharon Groves in 2005 with the intention of helping to protect the decline in numbers of the British Saddleback breed. This rare breed pig line has been in decline for many years due to more modern breeds replacing it in large commercial enterprises.
Along with other dedicated breeders the couple have managed to achieve their aims and objectives with many of their pig stock now spread throughout the country .
They have been very successful in the show ring regularly winning the best British Saddleback class in a number of County Shows and also winning the national champion on three occasions.
Reacting to public demand at these shows they have now decided to produce their own pork from their herd.
Our British Saddleback pork is slow maturing ensuring a very tasty meat reared in a free range environment on the Isle of Wight ensuring our pigs have the best possible life on pasture land along with water wallows to bathe in.
